Perhaps the next time you see the word sustainable, pause for a moment.
Ask:
What is it made from?
Where did the material come from?
Did the material already exist?
Who made it?
Was their skill valued?
Was it made well?
Will I use it often?
Can I repair it?
Can I reuse it?
What happens when I no longer need it?
There may not always be a perfect answer.
But asking the questions changes the way we look at products.
And perhaps that is where responsible consumption begins.
Not with a label.
Not with a claim.
But with curiosity, care and conscious choice.
